Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis
Mozart Requiem

Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia remains one of his most popular works, based on a beautiful theme written centuries earlier by Thomas Tallis. With layers of strings - quartet, double quartet and orchestra - Vaughan Williams creates a uniquely ethereal, choral effect. Mozart’s famous Requiem, written on his death-bed and left unfinished, concludes this opening event, performed with Boston’s superb New World Chorale, many of whose members have performed locally and internationally with the world’s major orchestras.
