Why give to the Lexington Symphony? Because the "Music I heard with you was more than music"--Conrad Aiken, poet

By now, most of you are aware that the Lexington Symphony is a fantastic orchestra in our own community. And you have helped us sell out nearly every concert since the arrival of our music director, Jonathan McPhee. Many of you may not be aware, however, that ticket sales cover only a portion of our operating costs. Your help is critical to maintaining our programming and community outreach projects, ensuring that the music you enjoy can be shared with every segment of our community.

Live music is about sharing--you and your friends sharing a magical concert evening together, the orchestra sharing its passion for the music it plays, and the community sharing its appreciation for a cultural gem that nourishes our souls. But beyond the concert experience, the Lexington Symphony is about bringing live classical music to you and others in our community-from youth to seniors-in everyday venues as part of everyday life.

Over the years, smaller groups from the Lexington Symphony have played at multiple community events from Art in the Barn to the Farmer's Market. We have also developed and performed in many innovative programs designed to educate and reach out to all generations.

We are doing much to build community through classical music. But we cannot continue to do it without your help. So I am asking you to please contribute to our Annual Fund drive. Every gift helps us reach our goal of $50,000.

Be part of sharing this cultural treasure.

Sincerely,

Fred Johnson, President
