Mussorgsky Dawn Over the Moskva River
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4

Romance from the east rises at dawn in Mussorgsky’s visually vivid tone poem, and gets its full due in Tchaikovsky’s deeply sensitive and sensational Violin Concerto, here performed by international recording artist Irina Muresanu. The Fourth Symphony, beginning with opening brass fanfare, moves through vast emotional territory, from dramatic melancholy to exciting, uplifting finale. Tchaikovsky loved this work from its very beginnings and throughout his life: "I adore terribly this child of mine; it is one of only a few works with which I have not experienced disappointment."
