The Madrigal Singers has been an institution at Lexington High School for over twenty-five years. It is an auditioned ensemble selected from over two hundred students participating in the choral program and rehearses multiple times each week. Its repertoire consists not only of Renaissance music, but also of chamber choral literature from other eras - particularly modern. The singers learn and perform masterworks with the larger LHS choral ensembles as well. Each year they give approximately thirty performances; this year's performance venues included the Boston Public Library and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The Madrigal Singers recently traveled to Armenia on a cultural tour for which they received the President's Volunteer Service Award.
