Lexington Symphony Announces, Holiday Pops Concert in collaboration with Town Festival Night, and Santa Claus, December 4

The Lexington Symphony will be hosting their annual Holiday Pops concert twice this year, at 4 pm to accommodate the younger audience, and again at 8 pm. Both concerts will be held in Cary Hall, during Lexington's Holiday Festival night on December 4.

The Lexington Symphony under the direction of Jonathan McPhee, will help the community ring in the start of the festive season with traditional holiday music and a few unusual, yet familiar sounding surprises including, Beatlecracker Suite, which mixes Beatles tunes with the Nutcracker.

Maestro McPhee admits to an appreciation for the not often heard pieces "because of the ability of this talented orchestra to pull it off, with the help of 'Jolly Old St. Nick's' singing of course, who has promised to fit this year's Holiday Pops into his hectic schedule!"

Holiday Festival Night, combined with the Symphony's Holiday Pops concert offers area townspeople and visitors an opportunity to enjoy all of the holiday traditions; music, dinning, shopping and family time in a historic, traditional New England setting. Mary Jo Bohart Director of the Lexington Chamber stated, "The Holiday Pops performance by the Lexington Symphony is becoming a local family tradition, it's a fantastic musical experience close to home and very reasonably priced. It fits in perfectly with the town's Holiday Festival Night."

Tickets for this year's Holiday Pops are priced to include all ages; 4pm show: $15 adults and $5 kids*; 8pm show, $20 adults, $5 kids*(*18 and under).

Also performing will be the Lexington High School Madrigals and Lincoln-Sudbury High School's Accent A Capella. Sing-a-long sheets will be on hand for those hard-to-remember verses of your old favorites and Santa promises to help sing at both concerts.
