Lexington Sinfonietta Holds Gala Summer Benefit At National Heritage Museum

On Saturday, July 16 at 6:00pm, the Lexington Sinfonietta will hold its first annual summer gala benefit on the grounds of the National Heritage Museum in Lexington. A champagne reception will feature music by the Cello Chix, a Boston Globe "Critic's Pick," including classic rock and groovy-pop on electric cellos. The four-course dinner will be catered by Lexx Café, with music provided by members of the Lexington Sinfonietta. "This will be a terrific party," says Sinfonietta Board Member Fred Johnson, "a great opportunity to enjoy a summer evening with friends and great food, great wine and great music." A virtual table is available for those who are unable to attend the event. For further information on the gala, please call Liz Whitfield at 781-863-9581.

The Lexington Sinfonietta is an orchestra of 40 core members committed to spreading appreciation of classical music and building community through quality live performances. Its conductor, Jonathan McPhee, has served as conductor for many of the world's most distinguished dance companies and numerous national and international orchestras. He was appointed Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the Lexington Sinfonietta last season. Maestro McPhee will be in attendance at the gala.

The players of the Lexington Sinfonietta include dedicated professional and avocational musicians who share a passion for their music and for exacting standards of performance. The Sinfonietta performs four Saturday evening subscription series concerts each year in Lexington, including an April event linked to the town's historic heritage and Patriots Day celebration.
