Friends of the Symphony 2017-18 Season Sponsored Concert:

Passion & Peril

Saturday, November 4, 2017
8PM at Cary Hall

Britten | Four Sea Interludes
Sibelius | Karelia Suite
Tchaikovsky | Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”

Join us for an evening of music that expresses the passion and peril of the human condition and of humanity itself. The beautiful music of Britten’s opera Peter Grimes gives way to an intense psychodrama of human interaction. Sibelius’ music celebrates and reflects times both important and emotional to the region of Karelia and its people. We close with Tchaikovsky’s brooding and autobiographical Symphony No. 6

Friends enjoy leadership donor benefits including invitations to special events such as Maestro’s Season Preview.
