Awards & Recognition

2013 ASCAP AWARD FOR ADVENTUROUS PROGRAMMING

Presented by the League of American Orchestras and The ASCAP Foundation. Lexington Symphony received a First Place Award for Contemporary Music for its Three for the 300th initiative, which celebrated the town of Lexington’s 300th anniversary throughout the Symphony’s 2012–2013 season.

2010 MUSIC ADVOCATE AWARD

Presented by the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA). This prestigious award is given to an individual, organization, or community leader who exemplifies the MMEA mission of advocacy for music education in the schools of Massachusetts and whose actions have led to improvements in curriculum, budget, or enrollment in the music program. Lexington Symphony was recognized for its work with elementary schools in Lawrence.

LEXINGTON SYMPHONY PUBLIC TRUSTS CENTENNIAL ENDOWMENT FUND

Established by the Trustees of Public Trusts of the Town of Lexington. In 2010, in honor of their centennial anniversary, the Trustees established the Lexington Symphony Public Trusts Centennial Endowment Fund. The Trustees recognized the Symphony’s broad appeal to Lexingtonians of all ages and unanimously selected the Symphony to be the recipient of this funding.

2009 LEXINGTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARD

For “Best New Initiative in Support of Town Businesses” (for our Holiday Pops program).

2006 NONPROFIT NET AWARD

For “Forward-Looking Vision and Exemplary and Enduring Contribution to Our Community.”
